Position: Sales account manager

Salary: (DOE + Excellent Bonus)

The company are focused on doubling the output in the next 3-5 years whilst maintaining/improving margins. We offer a full design service, in addition to CNC punching, laser cutting, CNC bending, welding and fabrication of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, powder coating and full assembly services.

We supply services nationally across a broad range of sectors, including Agricultural, Automotive, Construction, Digital signage, Food processing, Kiosk and vending, Scientific and medical, Switchgear and Rail.

The role and required candidate experience 

  • In depth sales experience within a sub- contract engineering environment, commercially astute and a track record of delivering profitable sales within a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsible for tendering for new business, project estimating, to include reading and understanding of customer drawings in a variety of different formats, building relationships with current customer base and with new to maximise the sales from each.
  • Capable of generating new business leads from research, historical relationships or social media platforms and be tenacious in approaching potential new customers/markets in the most effective way.
  • Knowledge of laser cutting, metal bending, welding processes/fabrication, painting and be self-motivated and familiar with all aspects of the tendering/quotation process to give accurate assumptions of manufacturing would be advantageous.
  • Respond to customer enquiries, processing quotations in a polite timely manner.
  • Able to break down Engineering Drawings into a suitable parts list to enable purchasing of material and creating BOM’S.
  • Able to identify any subcontract requirements and generate enquiries to subcontractors.
  • Be driven in achieving sales targets and reporting of results with a can-do attitude.
  • Comfortable in holding face to face meetings both internal and external with customers to discuss projects.
  • Confident in discussing any contractual issues which may arise.
  • Experience in selling sheet metal parts to the rail industry would be advantageous.

  • IT literate (confident is using estimating software packages) and MS office suite, familiar with modern marketing methods.

  • Capable of generating new business through modern marketing techniques.
  • Passionate, motivated with a thriving work ethic.
  • Smart in appearance
  • Capable of adding value to team meetings.
